Seems like this software is the complete opposite of user friendly. The regular setup is looks 5x easier

Did you follow all the instructions? You need to double click the instance to manage it, then hit update, then start. We'll be putting out a video later today.

AMPs main benefit is that you don't have to separately learn how to set up each game server. Once you've got AMP running the rest follows.

I have the same problem? Creating an Instance of Satisfactory (Shown as Green/Running) -> Opening the Instance (DoubleClick/Manage) -> Hitting "Update" (Console fires app update via SteamCMD successfully) -> Pressing "Start" will lead to "Application State: Starting" which will do nothing. No console output, no application started just the starting taking forever

Using Windows Sever 2016 with a fresh installation of AMP.

So I just bought this tool to have a quick server setup instead of doing everything manually all the time. Satisfactory was just added thats Ok but the bucks are not spend well here, sorry... But as I wan't to solve this I did some additional troulbeshooting. Maybe this helps:

  • After installing the server manually through SteamCMD and starting it through the commandline it requests the installation of UE4 components, some more .Net and DX11 during the first start
  • The server runs perfectly afterwards through the cmd

For AMP: It seems like AMP was waiting for userinput on these additional bits in the background because after installing the additional bits also AMP shows finaly some output during startup. Unfortunality it runs in some Errors and then hungs up again.

I attach the full Log output from the run:

LogStreaming: Warning: Failed to read file '../../../FactoryGame/Saved/SaveGames/GameAnalytics.sav' error.

LogGenericPlatformMisc: Error: SetEnvironmentVar not implemented for this platform: SteamAppId = 526870

GameAnalyticsModule: Warning: Invalid EOS Metrics Handle GameAnalyticsModule: Warning: AnalyticsService is initialized for Epic Online Services Metris LogInit: Display: Game Engine Initialized. LogConsoleResponse: Display: Can't switch to RHI thread mode when we are not running a multithreaded renderer. LogConsoleResponse: Display: RHIThread is disabled. LogInit: Display: Starting Game. LogReplicationGraph: Display: SetActorDiscoveryBudget set to 20 kBps (5333 bits per network tick). LogGameMode: Display: Match State Changed from EnteringMap to WaitingToStart LogReplicationGraph: Display: SetActorDiscoveryBudget set to 20 kBps (5333 bits per network tick). LogInit: Display: Engine is initialized. Leaving FEngineLoop::Init()

That's actually normal - if you can see that then the server is in fact ready and waiting. AMP was just incorrectly showing that it was still waiting for something.

Make sure to adjust the ports however to be the games defaults, since the server doesn't yet honour the flags to change them.

And by adjusting the ports, he means changing the ports in the 'edit ports' option. I changed 'Application ports' 1,2,3 to the default game ports listed on the wiki.
Application Port 1 = 7777 Application Port 2 = 15000 Application Port 3 = 15777

Id say leave the TCP+UDP alone, but you cant change it. After this I was able to connect to the server. Hope this helps

Sounds and looks good. Only the thing with missing additional installations isn't realy straight forward as you will only see it when you start the server outside of AMP via the console.
