If you access the Minecraft instance directly on its own port instead of via ADS, does it function correctly?

Dymas_CZ posted this 19 June 2019

I can access it on its own port but nothing changes. Cant controll or setup the server as stated before.

Mike posted this 19 June 2019

Okay, in that window separately if you do CTRL+F5 does anything change? I'm assuming you're logging in with your primary admin user.

Dymas_CZ posted this 19 June 2019

Yes no change im using the main Admin account but i tested creating a superadmin account for the specific instance with the same outcome.

mark.monteiro posted this 19 June 2019

I am also experiencing the same issue, we went through some troubleshooting on the Discord chat yesterday. I'm adding a summary of the the things we confirmed/tried yesterday:

  • Ctrl+f5 in front-end and a full browser cache clear
  • Confirmed there are no errors in the front-end console log
  • Instances are all on the mainline release stream
  • Confirmed that all server instances and the ampinstmgr command line tool are up to date
  • build date (bottom left corner) for ADS and the Minecraft instance match

I have also gone through the troubleshooting steps in the comments above with he same results as Dymas_CZ

Yabdat posted this 19 June 2019

I have the same issue. I run 5 different minecraft servers, and all of them have this problem.

I got my vanilla minecraft server, perhaps by chance, to give me the normal AMP screen. I could start the server and everything, but when I refreshed the page it went back to the bugged out version. No difference in the logs between the now bugged server and any of the others.

Mike posted this 19 June 2019

Okay, I can't currently reproduce this with the Minecraft instance. Is there anything showing in the Console tab of the F12 developer console? You should open it before logging in.

Yabdat posted this 19 June 2019

This is what I got.

I am having the same problem. Can't control server and missing parts of configuration

sithrebel15 posted this 20 June 2019

Just wanted to mention I have the same issue. i'm happy to provide nay information that can help and can give any logs, a web login or shell access on my test server if any of it will help. I believe this started with 1.8.1 but i'm not 100% sure what version i was on before updating.

Dymas_CZ posted this 20 June 2019

After reinstalling the server and updating the OS i installed AMP again and this time Minecraft module is working. I wonder if this could be a problem with some shared libs. Will install my other applications i need on my server and will test if MC module is working.

Mike posted this 20 June 2019

I need someone to send me a set of login details to an instance behaving like this so I can examine it.

cesjr1965 posted this 20 June 2019

Sorry, what do you mean by login details. I can send you some with more info. Thanks

Mike posted this 20 June 2019

Just a web address, username and password for an AMP panel that has this problem.

Yabdat posted this 20 June 2019

Sent login details to one of my servers, AMP is usually not open to the inet, but should be working now.

Yabdat posted this 20 June 2019

Btw, I got this when I tried to click on the Spiggot Plugins tab.

I can give you login information privately but would need to setup some also

Dymas_CZ posted this 21 June 2019

After some testing figured out it was a problem with openjdk. Tested with openjdk 8 and 11. When installing one of openjdk version on my system the Minecraft module did not work. Using Oracle Java this prublem is not present.

Yabdat posted this 21 June 2019

Hmm, that does not help me. I am using Oracle Java not openjdk, and I still have the problem.

EDIT: Tried switching to Oracle Java11, still same problem.

Dymas_CZ posted this 21 June 2019

I hade to reinstal the whole OS befor it was working for me.

natedog posted this 21 June 2019

I am having the same problem. It appears to work fine on the local machine using 127.0.0.1 but the same problem still occurs accessing the server remotely over the Internet or through another machine on my local network. Using openjdk version 1.8.0_212.

sithrebel15 posted this 22 June 2019

Tested multiple versions of java none worked.

openjdk8u212
openjdk8u211
amazon corretto8u212
oracle serverjre8u211

Dymas_CZ posted this 22 June 2019

As i mentioned i had to reinstal the whole OS for i tu run. So Resintall OS install AMP install Oracle Java then it was working. Did you reinstall your OS or did you just purged your old Java instalation?

Yabdat posted this 22 June 2019

I could not get it working even with reinstalling Ubuntu Server 18.04, with both openjdk and oracle java. Atleast its rather easy to roll back VM's. Still annoying.

So I pulled out a Windows VM and installed on that, temp fix for me, gonna try to figure out wth causes this.

voyd posted this 22 June 2019

I just tried the nightly build and the problem persists. I also tried connecting to the instance's port and doesn't fix.

WickedVikingBear posted this 23 June 2019

Hi, this exact error stumped me too and there is nothing in the error loggs that I can find sticks out. It just loads an generic AMP server control manager when I navigate into the Minecraft module. *As the picture posted by Dymas_CZ shows

Im running an dedicated Linux 18.04 server that was running perfectly with Minecraft java edition (Oracle JDK8 v202) till I upgraded from AMP version 1802 to version 1814.

I would be happy if there is an better solution that does not require an full reinstall of everything to "something else that might work". And as I don't know what triggers the problem with version 1814 of AMP, I would like som help on finding the correct solution for this problem? Thanks!

Hello, same error. Only i've found one strange thing:

when trying to access remotely via ip:port (192.168.193.144:8080 or 8082) it "wont work" - i can only start/stop/restart server, but other functions are inaccessible... (and yes, even if i can't see it in AMP, server is running and i can connect with MC client)

when trying to access "localy" via localhost:port it work on localhost:8080 and manage Instance. When trying to access localhost:8082 it gives me "Connection error" page...

(BTW: i've wroted that already on Discord, but @sneakysnek was offended that i'm using GUI on Ubuntu, so i'm not sure if that post was usefull or lost in OT, so i'm writing it here too)

(Edit: Running on Ubuntu 19.04, with LAN/ZeroTier network access only)

I'm currently playing around with this issue now, something to try, carefully in this order:

  • A complete browser cache wipe (not just CTRL+F5 on the page)
  • Upgrade the ADS and Minecraft instances to the Nightly stream. (ampinstmgr --nocache switch INSTANCENAME Nightly)
  • Rebind the Minecraft instances using ampinstmgr rebind on the same IP /port as before.
  • Start ADS via ampisntmgr - let it sit for a minute and do nothing.
  • Start a Minecraft instance via ampinstmgr, and once its showing green in ADS let it sit for a moment and do nothing.
  • Manage the Minecraft instance. Check the settings.

Mike posted this 24 June 2019

Also is anyone having this issue on Windows?

GottZ posted this 24 June 2019

hm. nope. factorio works fine. minecraft does not seem to be customizable at all (same state as OP's screenshot)

WickedVikingBear posted this 24 June 2019

Thanks for the suggestion Mike. I gave nightly a try on Ubuntu server 18.04 but could not get minecraft to work.

https://ibb.co/w4ktwkt

I'll do some more research.

jljohnson87 posted this 24 June 2019

Same issue as OP, I'm resorting to using a GUI install of Ubuntu because I am still able to manage my Minecraft server if I go to localhost:8080 from the server box. I would love to see this problem worked out quickly so I can go back to No GUI and save some system resources.

Mike posted this 24 June 2019

Is everyone with this issue on Linux then? Because I straight up cannot reproduce it.

If someone could try a brand new system somehow and do nothing but create ADS and create a Minecraft instance using an AMP licence and let me know what happens I'd be grateful.

NeoXen posted this 24 June 2019

Same issue for me in Firefox/Chrome on Ubuntu 19.04 and Safari/Chrome on macOS.. i installed ampinstmgr 4h ago on ubuntu 18.04 server... i will try it in a brand new ubuntu server vm, give me a minute

GottZ posted this 24 June 2019

The problem has been found!

It's caused by external data sources making the setting specification data waaaay too large and the browser stalls trying to deal with it!

Fix coming soon! :D

If you grab nightly, you lose the version selections but you'll be able to do things again :)
