OS Name/Version: Windows 10 Pro (as a VM)

Product Name/Version: AMP v1.9.6.0, built 24/02/2020 15:11

Instance: Space Engineers V1.9.6.0

Problem Description: I am unable to start the Space Engineers game. It appears to get stuck on a step called "AutoRestart Enabled". Please see the AMP log below for the complete startup sequence.

AMP Log:

Steps to reproduce:

Step 1: Add a new Space Engineers instance
Step 2: Click on "Start Instance"
Step 3: Click on "Manage"
Step 4: Click the "Update" button on the "Status" page
Step 5: After the install was complete I clicked the "Start" button to start the game
Step 6: Viewed the Console and noticed that the game was not started (see AMP logs above)

Actions taken to resolve so far:
- I have looked for a similar problem on this forum
- I have completely started over with a fresh Windows 10 Pro install (including all updates), and a fresh copy of the latest AMP (installed as a service).

Has anyone run into this before? Any help would be very much appreciated!

The log you just posted says "2020-02-25 18:38:25.405: Server successfully started" ?

Hey Mike,

Yeah... I saw that too, but it's a lie. The server isn't actually started and the "Start" and "Update" buttons are still showing which also indicate that it's not actually started.

This is what a full start up should look like (taken from my desktop PC). You can see there is a bit more that happens after the "Auto Restart Enabled". I did pretty much the same thing. Installed a fresh copy of AMP and the Space Engineers instance. There isn't too much different between my machines, some differences in hardware and one is running in a VM and the other is not.

Any pointers? It's very strange....

UPDATE:

I did some digging in the Space Engineer's logs found here: C:\AMPDatastore\Instances\SpaceEngineers01\spaceengineers\298740\servers

It looks like it's "Unable to load DLL 'Havok.dll'" what ever that is. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing that?

FIXED:

So... after some more googling I found out this is due to not having the latest Visual C++ 2019 redistributable. After I installed it, everything started up fine.

Solved!

So I ran into the same problem today, but the files you linked didn't work for me. I found that this package did it for me https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40784
