Hello, I seen the answer to this once but now I am unable to find it again.

I am trying to migrate my AMP minecraft servers from one physical server to another. What needs to be moved (i.e. just the minecraft directory under the instance directory or anything else)?

Thanks

Windows or Linux?

You can actually move the entire instance and use the attach command in ampinstmgr to add it to the datastore. Probably the best way as it takes care of reactivating etc.

Ahh, ok. I think I am out of luck then. I only saved the "minecraft" directory out of the old instance. I did not save the entire instance.

Thanks for the info though. Good for future reference.

Ok, Oddly enough I got it to work. I tried this method numerous times but it would not work until now.

Since I only saved the 'minecraft' directory, I created a new instance, started it, then stopped it. renamed the 'minecraft' directory in the new instance to 'minecraft.old' and copied the 'minecraft' folder from my old server to the new one. Started the instance and modified some setting including which jar file to use and started the server. It worked

Like I said i did this a few times before and it did not work. Remains to be seen if any anomalies occur but for now I am happy.
