OS Name/Version: Linux mint 19.1

Product Name/Version: AMP

Problem Description: When I run

sudo apt-add-repository "deb http://repo.cubecoders.com/ debian/"

I get the error

Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
Malformed input, repository not added

Steps to reproduce:

Step 1 Run sudo apt-add-repository "deb http://repo.cubecoders.com/ debian/" on linux mint 19.1 as a normal user

Actions taken to resolve so far:

I have tried running sudo apt-add-repository deb http://repo.cubecoders.com/ debian/ to no avail. Tried using the auto install script (sudo su -c "bash <(wget -qo-="" getamp.sh)"="" -qo-="">

Which hosting company are you using?

None I am hosting my own server.

Interesting. Could you just try running it again? I'm wondering if you ended up trying during a restart out of sheer bad luck or similar.

Nope I am still getting the same error:

Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
Unable to init server: Could not connect: Connection refused
Malformed input, repository not added.

I am having the exact same error on ubuntu 18.04 on an OVH dedi. It is not firewall related either. Was this ever resolved somehow?

So far as I can tell this is an hosting provider issue, the repo itself is reachable ( to verify: https://repo.cubecoders.com/ ) so your host may be refusing connections to OVH where the repos are hosted.

Have you already tried to add the repository the manual way?

echo -e "\ndeb http://repo.cubecoders.com/ debian/" | sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list
