OS Name/Version:
Windows 10 Pro

Product Name/Version:
AMP 2.1.2

Problem Description:
I set up my Valheim server and got it running, but when I press Stop to stop the server it hangs on Application State: Stopping, indefinitely. Forcing me to press kill, which leads to loss of progress in game. I noticed the process is not closing on Windows task manager as well.

Steps to reproduce:
Create a Valheim instance,
Press update, wait for it to finish,
Press start,
Play in server,
Press stop,
Hangs on Stopping,

Actions taken to resolve so far:
I have tried multiple new instances. With same results. No idea what to do. I tried installing amp on another local windows 10 computer, create a valheim instance and stop it, it still hangs and wont close.

Other notes: The same this is happening to my Terraria server, I press stop and it hangs on Application State: Stopping, forcing me to kill the task. I've also noticed that I cannot type any commands in the console for my Valheim or terraria server. My MC server everything works fine.

Valheim doesn't always respond properly to requests to perform a clean shutdown on Windows, so we're a bit stuck for now.

I don't know what just happened, but I deleted and created a new Valheim instance again and now it seems to shutdown properly. No need to kill. I find this odd as I have not updated anything - it is still on v2.1.2.0.

[13:41:22] [Core:admin Debug]     : Running command line: "taskkill.exe /PID 8324" from ""

I enabled logging and took a look at the last line after pressing Stop, and this is what it came up with. Hopefully its some help to maybe get this issue fixed for windows pc. Thank you for the workaround. I've also tried changing OS_Close to CtrlC in the GenericModule and that didn't work either.
I'm also having issues with my Terraria server stopping and not shutting down properly as well.

I can confirm this is a Windows-specific issue. Seems awfully similar this. Does not appear to impact Linux.

I have not spent a great amount of time on this, but I would suggest doing the following as a workaround:

  1. Add yourself as an admin on the game server
  2. In Steam, go to the properties for the game and add -console to the launch options
  3. When you need to shutdown the server, press F5 and type save, and once the world has saved you can kill it
