OS Name/Version: Windows 11 Proffesional

Product Name/Version: (Always use the full version number - not ‘Latest’) Currently running version 2.5.0.4 - 20240404.5

Problem Description: I am running a Palworld (modded) server that does not seem to launch. i have followed the guide posted in

Seemingly to no effect.
Trying to connect to the server just times out, and looking at the panel resources used, there is no way it even remotely is running the server.
I do want to note that this was basically after installing for the first time so if there are any amp specific config changes that needed to be made, they were not.

If you're sharing console output, logs, or commands you have run, please make sure to use code tags
(3x backticks for blocks, 1x backtick for a single line) to help make posts readable. This also
provides syntax highlighting.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Step 1 Installed AMP
  • Step 2 made sure i updated AMP properly
  • Step 3 Created palworld (modded) instance and let it download
  • Step 4 Stopped instance and updated it
  • Step 5 Set config to server settings, enabled multiplayer and set it to run via my ip vs 0.0.0.0

Actions taken to resolve so far: Followed the guide another user posted (linked above), other than that, i have stopped the server and have not messed with it any further.

Does AMP show all the required ports as being green for Palworld once it’s started?

Upon launching, all ports do show green, however i cannot connect locally or externally.

Does the console show any output from the server starting?

None at all, upon starting the server, the console is entirely empty.

Do you have git installed on your system?

No, i have never installed git on this machine.

EDIT, after installing git, i am able to get the console to produce output, however i am still unable to connect. The console outputs the following

EDIT (again) i have noticed the query port is now red when trying to launch, but i am unable to forward it at the current moment due to my isps access portal being unavailable. will edit this post once complete if that was the reason behind the server not launching.

UE4SS has a bug, preventing connections to the server.

Was patched by the UE4SS devs yesterday, waiting for a new release.

You can manually install it in the meantime from an experimental build. Latest: https://github.com/UE4SS-RE/RE-UE4SS/releases/download/experimental/UE4SS_v3.0.1-46-g7e82ef9.zip

Put that in Pal/Binaries/Win64 (by AMP’s file manager), then unzip it

After following your instructions and attempting to launch the server, it fails and reports the following error.

This task could not be completed: Starting Palworld… - - State: 3.

Application stopped unexpectedly with exit code -1073741701.

If you used Windows Explorer to add the files, make sure that the NETWORK SERVICE user has full read/write/execute access.

I said to use AMP’s file manager for a reason lol

i used winscp to do it it, let me try with the default file manager, sorry, didnt think it would make a difference

Amp’s SFTP would also be fine

okay, i stopped the service, updated it to verify it was a clean slate and launched. then added through the file manager and unzipped, now it is doing the same thing, failed to launch. could not get a screengrab of the error code, and the console did not seem to have any details regarding this.

Can you show us the contents of the support tab for this instance please?

I checked on a few things just to verify cause i saw the support code block said virtualization wasnt enabled. The virtualization setting in my bios is indeed enabled, and i do have hyperv enabled in the windows side of things. not sure if this is significant or not, but i wanted to check on that.

Ah, try manually installing the latest directx runtime.

If you delete dwmapi.dll in Pal/Binaries/Win64, it runs lol
